The Nexus Award 2010 event took place on Wednesday, April 21.

We are pleased to have awarded the inaugural Nexus Award to Dr. Andrea Barnwell Brownlee, Director of the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art, and to Dr. Jerry Cullum, Editor at Large of Art Papers.

The Nexus Award honors individuals who have made a significant contribution to the visual arts in Atlanta and beyond. Brownlee represents a strong curatorial and educational vision, and Cullum a consistent critical voice. These individuals embody the spirit of the award, and by honoring them, we both thank them publicly and hope to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
