2012 Summer Programming
Performance: Anya Liftig
Sat, Aug 04, 1-2pm
Liftig is a wildly adventurous and darkly comedic performer. She has stared down Marina Abramović at MoMA, danced with a large salmon, and crawled for hours over a peanut butter-covered barricade. Join us Sunday for a performance piece as she discusses aspects of history with a canine friend. Performance is free and open to the public.
To find Anya in the park—enter from the Grady High School side (Charles Allen Drive) and walk approximately 250 feet into the park. On your right will be a young woman with a dog sitting on a red, white, and blue patchwork quilt. Stop and watch the performance. This site is very close to the David Hammons sculpture Free Nelson Mandela.
Earlier in the day, Exclusive Member Benefit: Cultural Excursion 11am–12pm.
Members, join us in Piedmont Park to view and discuss historical sculptures by David Hammons and Isamu Noguchi.
Info and RSVP: contact Melanie Beal, Membership & Outreach Coordinator, mbeal@thecontemporary.org or 404.688.1970 x213.
