Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation
Awards $40,000 Grant

We are thrilled to report that the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation is continuing their support of our educational programming through their Marketplace Empowerment for Artists program. They have generously sponsored our Artist Survival Skills series for several years. This year’s grant will enable us to produce a publication that examines aspects of “Creative Lives and Careers.” Much of the book’s content will be drawn from lectures and panel discussions at the Contemporary featuring artists, curators, and critics including Dan Cameron, Mel Chin, Nancy Popp, Barbara Pollack, and Jerry Saltz, as well as new takes on advice and inspiration by other well-respected leaders in the field.

We want you to know what they are up to by providing monthly updates about their activities and accomplishments.

We welcome Yi-Hsin Tzeng to the Program this month. Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Tzeng relocated to the United States in 2007 and attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where she was awarded a full tuition Fellowship in the MFA painting program. She was also the recipient of several artist residencies including Elizabeth Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, and Ox-Bow. Tzeng investigates the shape and color of human desire using various media, including painting, video, installation, and sculpture.
